What’s on YOUR Grill This Week?
Captains Shack Pulled Pork
Bob Young In Idaho
Got this email from Bob Young this week:
Hiya CB – I just want you to know how much I enjoy the Newsletter and my Char-Broil grill! Both are fantastic. I have used the grill now for 6 or 7 years and it is fantastic! But now, it is time for an upgrade – I need a larger one.
If you look at our retirement blog, you will find some photos of this past July 4th grilling session. Also, I have posted some recipes for grilling there that you might want to look at.Thanks and keep up the fantastic work!

I checked out the web site and I gotta tell you Bob is certainly not a retiring guy! He is so busy I had to to take a nap after reading about all of his activities – I think his last name tells it like it is.
His recipe is called Captains Shack Pulled Pork II and it is just wonderful! Oh – and set aside about 24 hours to prep and cook it – well worth the time! If you’d like to view a printable recipe or to save one to your Free My Favorites account on the Char-Broil web site, just click on this link – CLICK HERE
Happy Grilling!

Thanks so much for posting our recipe for Pulled Pork. I just made one of the best I have ever done to feed the folks at the Idaho Hotel in Silver City, Idaho. This is the second one I have done for them.
Read the Captain’s pulled pork recipe and sounds interesting. Will try it sometime. Have a complant: When printing out recipes, I chose ‘printer friendly always. However, the recipe usually comes ont on one page, but often a second page will print with only one or two lines and some code that identifies the document itself. My complaint is that there is always at least at lines of blank space at the top of the Char-Broil logo that could be used for the recipe itself. Wasted space and costly. Get your format guy to check that out, please!
Thanks, Don Daegele
Don, great suggestion. I’ll pass it along and see what we can do! You can also highlight the recipe and past it onto your own page on your computer – then format it to fit how you like to read it.
UPDATE ON 7/14
DON, the tech guys took a look and I did as well. Sorry to have to tell you this, but in their words

What is tomato powder which is called for in this recipe? I’m not familiar with it and is it available in most grocery stores and I’ve just never noticed it. This is the first recipe I’ve ever seen calling for this ingredient. Thanks.
Sandra, I’ve read it in recipes but never used it myself. Here’s a definition I like paraphrased from Woodland Foods:
There you have it! I’m going to ask for it at my favorite specialty food market and try it. – CB
