Dinner with Friends
Y’know these days the weather is just a bit cooler and I do enjoy the comfort foods I’ve been served at the tables of friends and neighbors. My next door neighbor, Mardi, held a little dinner party the other evening and served grilled butterflied leg of lamb that she’d marinated in olive oil, garlic and rosemary. With the medium-rare slices of lamb were roasted potatoes, carrots and these tasty little dinner rolls that absolutely demanded I enjoy several with butter!
After dinner we adjourned to the backyard where a warm fire was blazing in a firebowl. These firebowls are just great for small backyards and I wish I lived on land so I could have one. She told me she actually packed it up and took it to a friends house last summer – to enjoy a late evening fire on the patio. Anyone had experience with one of these?- CB

I can attest to the pleasures of sharing meals with CB and friends! The company is wonderul, fun and the food is always fabulous. I think my most current favorite is CB’s “Grilled†Fish Stew or is it CB’s EZ “Grilled†Vegetable & Sausage Soup? Hmmm…. It’s a toss-up. Definitly comfort food, in any case!!
My wife and I have one of those out door fire places. Similar to the firebowl. It is on wheels and quite portable. Most of the time we have it near our in ground hot tub and enjoy the fire while relaxing in the hot tub and having a glass of wine. On cool fall afternoons I like to wheel it near the patio and have a nice fire while cooking on my Comercial Series Char-Broil grill and listening to the big game on the radio. The aromas from the grill and the fire drive my neighbors nuts. Life does not get any better than this!
Thanks Doug. So what you’re saying is when invited to your house for a little grilling and dipping…you efficiently do them at the same time? – CB
